Board Service Opportunity

The United Way of Mid Rural New York, Inc. is seeking interested community members to serve on its Board of Directors.  We are a New York not-for-profit corporation serving Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Madison Counties and our mission is to improve the quality of life for all residents of our four-County service area by focusing on income and financial stability, education and health.  Candidates should have significant ties and a demonstrated commitment to the communities we serve.  Directors meet at least five times a year and are elected to serve a three-year term.

Directors are nominated and elected at the Annual Meeting of UWMRNY held in January of each year.  A variety of factors must be taken into consideration by the Nominating Committee of the Board in determining who will be placed in nomination at any given time for a seat on the Board of Directors, including diversity, geographic community and County representation, as well as representation of important economic, cultural and other interests of the community.  In addition, the Board seeks to have members with a variety of skill sets that can best serve the various needs of the organization.  Your interest is appreciated, and consideration will be given to your application based upon these various factors and the current needs of the organization.

Interested candidates must be at least18 years of age and should complete the application form available here:
